On the plus side, if you manage to kill the mercenaries, their exceptionally powerful gear will cover you until the endgame. These mercenaries come packed and hit hard, so don’t try to pull this off in your Survival run (27 Club achievement). Each caravan robbery adds a bounty to your head and you’ll eventually be tracked down by mercanaries without any chance to escape. WARNING: This is essentially a death wish. Killing only the trader counts as a robbery, so you can kill the trader and escape the encounter without having to deal with the bodyguards.
